Stair step type

I have seen this kind of typesetting before, with the sort of M.C Escher stair step approach, and I've wanted to set a design in this kind of style. It adds a nice element of depth in a creative way to type. It makes you want to read it!

Guinness

Ahhh I've always loved a nicely poured Guinness. And since I can remember I've always liked their approach to design: A style reminiscent of the past while keeping a fresh marketing and design approach to consumers. I love the simplicity of the arch illustration.
Though this design isn't anything entirely special, it does reign true in the back of most designers minds...probably.

Firefox logo

I finf it strange that for the longest time, I knew the name of this search engine was firefox, and yet I failed to see that there was an actual fox incorporated into the logo because the icon is always so small. This design is so creative because it gives the idea that your internet wil be provided at blazing speeds around the world.

Backside of a Jupiter's Pizza and Billiards coupon

This logo was done by a Parkland design student I believe, and is successful because it incorporates a person with a pool cue and also the semi-circular shape denotes pizza. The map is super simplistic, but gets the job done, which can be challenging for a designer.

Paul Smith Spectacles Case

This is the case for my glasses featuring Paul Smith's signature accented by a multicolor tag where you open the case. The simplicity of this design somehow makes it seem super fancy and trendy. I suppose sometimes all you need is the name of your very reputable designer smack dab in the middle of your package, and that gets the job done. It says "We are Paul Smith Spectacles, therefore we don't need super fancy packaging to sell you this product"

I really love the way designers of fancy beauty product make such elegant designs using such minimal elements. This design just says "I am fancy and you should buy me because I will help make you more beautiful and appealing".
